Boston Celtics Team Up with the Celtics CommUNITY Crew to Renovate Athletic Facility
More than 100 volunteers to refurbish C.A.S.H. High School and the Harbor Pilot Middle School shared physical activity space serving 600 Boston Public School students
Members of the Celtics CommUNITY Crew spent a good portion of the day on Wednesday renovating the shared athletic facility of C.A.S.H. High School and the Harbor Pilot Middle School. Projects included painting and re-purposing the multi-level gymnasium, and revamping the outdated locker and weight rooms.
Combined, C.A.S.H. High School and the Harbor Pilot Middle School have more than 600 students. The Celtics CommUNITY Crew will contribute to fostering a positive educational environment for the students who use the facility on a daily basis. Access to physical activity spaces in schools, community centers and parks has become increasingly important due to growing concerns of fitness and diet-related issues among today’s youth.
The Celtics CommUNITY crew is a partnership between the Boston Celtics, the Boston Celtics Shamrock Foundation and the Arbella Insurance Group.
