SELLOUT STREAK: The Bruins enter today’s game having sold out their last 73  consecutive regular season home games at the TD Garden (86 straight including  playoff home games).

CENTURY MARK: Today is Brad Marchand’s 100th career  NHL game, against a Colorado team that he scored two goals and two assists against last season in a 6-2 Boston win on January 22, 2011 in Denver.

ONE MORE: B’s Head Coach Claude Julien is one win shy of 300 for his coaching career.

BOSTON CONNECTIONS: Colorado features two former  Bruins on their roster. Chuck Kobasew, who won a national title with Boston College in 2001, played in parts of four seasons with the Bruins, appearing in 158 games with 44-40=84 totals. Matt Hunwick, whom the Bruins took in  the
7th round (224th overall) of the 2004 NHL Entry Draft, appeared in 164 games with the B’s, with 13-32=45 totals. Joe Sacco, Head Coach of  the Avs, attended Boston University and originally hails from Medford, Mass. Johnny Boychuk meanwhile was traded from Colorado to Boston for  Matt
Hendricks on June 24, 2008.

TOP LINE: The B’s first line of Milan Lucic, David Krejci and Nathan Horton have all had success against Colorado in their careers. Lucic has 2-2=4 totals in three games, Krejci has 1-5=6  totals in three games, and Horton has 2-4=6 totals in five games.

ON  THE ROAD: The Bruins will visit the Carolina Hurricanes for their first road  game of the year on Wednesday, October 12. Following the game, the team will  stay in Carolina and practice there on Thursday before departing for Chicago.  The matchup with the Blackhawks on Saturday night will feature the last two Stanley Cup champions.

IT’S BEEN AWHILE: The Bruins have not won a home  game against Colorado since March 30, 1998. Since moving to Denver from Quebec City, the Avs have gone 13-7-1 against the B’s.

FIGHT CLUB: Colorado is one of five NHL teams B’s enforcer Shawn Thornton has never
fought against in his 86 career fights. The others are Detroit, Minnesota, Phoenix and Boston.
