RED SOX ROOKIE PROGRAM PARTICIPANTS TO JOIN RED SOX FOUNDATION AND YOUTHBUILD BOSTON FOR MARTIN LUTHER KING JR. DAY COMMUNITY SERVICE PROJECT

 Participants in the 2011 Red Sox Rookie Program will join the Red Sox Foundation and YouthBuild Boston for a day of service at the Early Care and Education Center at Children’s Services of Roxbury.  Sponsored by the Red Sox Foundation, the award winning team charity of the Boston Red Sox, the community service program will pair Red Sox Rookies with 25 academically talented, low income sixth grade students from the Red Sox Scholars program to repaint several rooms at the center, create playful wall art, build window boxes and more.  The Early Care and Education Center serves roughly 100 inner city children ranging in age from six weeks to six-years-old. 

  The 2011 Red Sox Rookie Program Participants  are (11): pitchers Robert Coello, Stephen Fife, Stolmy Pimentel, Jason Rice, Clevelan Santeliz, Alex Wilson; catchers Tim Federowicz and Ryan Lavarnway; infielders Will Middlebrooks and Oscar Tejeda; and outfielder Juan Linares.  Red Sox Scholars, YouthBuild Boston Students and staff.
