TIGER A RAT ?

So now we have part of the real story anyway concerning Tiger Woods. Woods issued the obligatory mea culpa today. Long gone are the comments about the misguided media comments and malicious statements from certain media members who were out to get him and his family.

Woods admitted today, after two more women came forward saying they had affairs with the worlds’ greatest golfer, “I have let my family down.”

I have a number of problems with this and I’m sure that I will take a beating (not intended to be a pun) about my stance. If in fact Tiger’s wife struck the golfer, Mrs. Woods needs to face some scrutiny as well. Domestic violence is domestic violence, no matter who participates. Charges should be brought against her if in fact she struck her husband. By all accounts, Tiger has numerous facial injuries that he is doing his best to conceal. Despite the rage that Mrs. Woods must have felt, and with good reason, enough is enough. Just is no means no, hitting someone is not acceptable under any circumstances.

Second, there is the whole issue of Tiger’s All-American Image. The public has been slammed over the years with “Brand Tiger”. One that promises the ultra clean individual who Americans should go out and buy products endorsed by the golfer. Tigers’ name is linked in with many high level companies that have billions in revenues. Tiger has been portrayed as the All American male. Well guess what ? Tiger is just like most every other male in this world….no better or worse.

Maybe now we will give our role models the proper respect they deserve…..and thats not much at all. They are no better than the average man on the street.

The following is the offical statement issues by Tiger Woods. How many advisors went into making up this announcement ? It says nothing, admits to nothing and is worth nothing !!

Tiger Woods released a statement on his web site, writing: “I have let my family down and I regret those transgressions with all my heart. I have not been true to my values and the behavior my family deserves. I am not without faults and I am far short of perfect. I am dealing with my behavior and personal failings behind closed doors with my family. Those feelings should be shared by us alone.”

Just Tiger being Tiger !!
